My name is Becky and I run Teaching Talons (The Animal Ambassadors) Ltd. We provide interactive and educational animal workshops in the Herts, Beds and Bucks area primarily, visiting schools, birthday parties, events, care homes and more. Set up by myself (a zoo keeper and animal trainer by trade) and my family, we pride ourselves on our professional presentations, high animal welfare standards and strive to set ourselves apart in the animal encounters industry. We were delighted to win not one, but two categories in the 2018 awards, after making it as finalists in previous years. We won The Green Award, which is a topic naturally very close to our hearts and Business Innovation for our new animal phobia cure courses that we are lucky enough to run with licensed and experienced therapist, Nicky Ward. As a very small business with several local and many more National competitors- it really does make a difference to be able to say we are 'award winning'. Our winners logo also looks fantastic on our website, social media and other advertising. We are now in the wonderful position of being able to call ourselves 'Bedfordshires only multi-award winning animal encounters company'- and you cant get a much better marketing tag line than that! Entering is free and simple to do, so why wouldn't you?! Making it as a finalist is an achievement in itself and a great marketing opportunity and we have entered the Bedfordshire awards every year since our launch in 2014 and will continue to do so. Plus the awards ceremony is always a fabulous night out with your colleagues and a great networking opportunity (and that is coming from someone who struggles with networking outside of the zoo industry!). If you see me at a future SME awards event (which I hope you will!) please come and say hi!
